Vande Bharat Trains in Rajasthan: What You Should Know
As of early November 2026, Rajasthan has five Vande Bharat train pairs. They connect Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Udaipur with Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Surat. Along the way they stop at towns like Alwar, Pali, Abu Road and Dungarpur.
The first service started in April 2023 on the Ajmer–Delhi route. It was later extended to Chandigarh. Jodhpur got a second train in September 2025, and Bikaner got its first Vande Bharat the same month. The newest addition is the Surat–Udaipur train, flagged off on 2 October 2026.
Not every Rajasthan route has lasted. The Udaipur–Jaipur and Udaipur–Agra Cantt Vande Bharat trains stopped running in mid-February 2026. The Udaipur–Asarva (Ahmedabad) train was replaced by the longer Surat–Udaipur service. If you see those older trains in other articles, they are no longer running.
Please note that timings, off-days and fares in this article are approximate. They can change because of schedule revisions, extensions or seasonal adjustments. Always confirm the exact details on IRCTC or NTES before you book.

- Pick your travel date and tap search.
- Find your Vande Bharat train by its number, for example 26481.
- Choose AC Chair Car (CC) or AC Executive Chair Car (EC) and check the seat status.
- Add passenger details, review the fare breakup and pay online.
- Save the e-ticket and carry a valid photo ID on the day of travel.
Booking Tips
- Booking for these trains usually opens 60 days before the travel date. Confirm the current limit on IRCTC.
- Book early for festival weeks, school holidays and wedding season. Jaipur, Ajmer and Udaipur are busy at these times.
- Some Vande Bharat trains offer Tatkal quota. It is not guaranteed, and fares are higher. Check the train page on IRCTC.
- Pick the right station in Jaipur. Jaipur Jn and Gandhinagar Jaipur are different stops on some trains.
- Plan around the off-day. A Wednesday trip on the Ajmer or Bikaner trains will not work.
- Book the return leg at the same time so you do not get stuck at the other end.
Longest, Fastest and Biggest
- Longest route: Ajmer–Chandigarh, at about 678 km and roughly 8 hours 35 minutes.
- Shortest scheduled journey time: Jodhpur–Sabarmati, at about 6 hours on the morning train.
- Biggest train: Jodhpur–Delhi Cantt, which runs with 20 coaches and about 1,440 seats since May 2026.
Classes and Amenities Explained
AC Chair Car (CC) is the standard class. You get a reserved, air-conditioned, reclining seat at a lower fare. AC Executive Chair Car (EC) has wider seats, more legroom and fewer seats per coach, so it costs more. Neither class has sleeping berths.
On board, you can expect Wi-Fi, charging points, reading lights, tray tables, large windows, overhead racks and meals or snacks. The trains are also fitted with Kavach, Indian Railways’ train protection system. Facilities can vary slightly from one train set to another.
